What is the Renewable Energy Target Scheme (RET)?
A government initiative called the Renewable Energy Target Scheme (RET) is directed at both large and small power plants. This is how it operates.
Renewable energy plants can obtain energy certificates under the RET for each megawatt-hour of electricity they produce. The energy certificates that power plants receive are classified as either small-scale (STC) or large-scale (SGC) depending on the size of the renewable energy source.

Small-scale renewable energy scheme (SRES)
Financial incentives are provided by the SRES to homeowners and small businesses who install small-scale energy systems. Installing solar panels, wind turbines, solar water heaters, or small-scale hydro systems with 100kW or less in capacity are a few examples of projects. For each megawatt hour of electricity produced, you will receive small-scale technology certificates (STCs) when you work with Ecosaver to design and install your small-scale renewable energy system. After that, you can make money by selling these certificates to retailers of electricity.
Large-scale renewable energy scheme (LRET)
Businesses are encouraged by the LRET to produce a percentage of their electricity from renewable sources. Large-scale wind, solar, and hydroelectric farms are all included in this plan.
For each megawatt hour of electricity you produce after working with Ecosaver to install your large-scale renewable energy system, you will get one large-scale generation certificate (LGC). You can resell your certificates to retailers of electricity once you’ve received them. It really is that simple.
