Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs)
Power Expert is dedicated to making energy upgrades in Victoria hassle-free as a partner of recognised Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificate (VEEC) providers.
What are Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs)?
Victorian businesses and homeowners who install qualifying energy-efficient upgrades with an approved provider, are awarded Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs), which are tokens of credit from the government. This is how the plan operates.
We give you one VEEC for each tonne of CO2 that your energy-efficient upgrade—like an LED lighting system, a contemporary HVAC system, or a rooftop solar farm—helps offset when you work with Power Expert to install it. After that, you make money by reselling these VEECs to energy retailers. You can even install some eligible upgrades for free.
Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act 2007 (the Act) and commenced on 1 January 2009. The scheme is administered in accordance with the Act, the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Regulations 2008 and the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (Project-Based Activities) Regulations 2017.

VEEC certificates can only be created by approved providers, like Ecosaver, that have been accredited by the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) under the Victorian Energy Upgrade (VEU) program. When you get in touch, we’ll walk you through the application process and set everything in motion so you can start earning your hard-earned certificates.
The price of VEECs fluctuates based on supply and demand. This means the market can be volatile, and it’s tricky to predict precisely how much your VEECs will be worth once you sell them to energy retailers. That said, as of now, VEECs are the most profitable certificates for businesses of all sizes, fluctuating between $80 and $90 per VEEC. As experts in the field, Ecosaver keeps its finger on the pulse of market trends. When you partner with us, we’ll keep you up to date on all relevant changes so you can rest easy knowing you’re always in the know.
VEEC eligibility varies depending on the size and type of your energy-efficient upgrade. When you contact Ecosaver, we’ll inform you whether your proposed upgrades will be eligible.
